About this activity

Luxor has been described as “the world’s greatest open-air museum”, as the ruins of the Egyptian temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor lie within the modern city. Directly opposite, across the Nile River, lie the monuments, temples and tombs of the west bank of the Theban necropolis, which includes the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens.

The best place to visit to see the history and witness the grandeur of Egypt.

Itinerary

Route Of Tour

The world-famous Luxor and Karnak temples are located in the "City of the Living", once united by an avenue of sphinxes into a single ensemble. The most impressive part of the Karnak Temple is the Hall of Columns of Pharaoh Seti I. These are 134 columns 16 m high each, painted from top to bottom with cultured bas-reliefs. On the southern side of the temple adjoins a small lake, on the shore of which stands a huge granite scarab beetle, considered sacred in Egypt. According to legend, the scarab fulfils wishes.

In the "City of the Dead" is the famous "Valley of the Pharaohs", the place of their burial (about 40 tombs in total). Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered here.

The tombs are carved in the rocks, because they were tried to hide them as carefully as possible from prying eyes.

Then we will take a boat to the other side of the Nile, where we will visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon, visit the factory of stone products.

Lunch buffet in the restaurant. Drinks are paid separately. Then you will be accommodated for rest at the hotel.

At 4am you will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor and transferred to the West Coast. Then - briefing (unfortunately without Russian, only in English, French or Arabic), fascinating process of balloon inflation and, finally, the captain's permission to take seats in the basket. Next is the launch and a 50-minute flight over the sights of Luxor, all its temples and tombs, as well as the small villages in its vicinity. In order to impress tourists, the flight is usually timed to coincide with sunrise, so the spectacle is guaranteed a 10 out of 10.
