Cairo: Old Cairo Egyptian Museum and Citadel Salah Eldin Tour

Our tour begins with a visit to the Cairo National Museum. There is a huge collection of Egyptian antiquities of great interest. There are more than 150 thousand exhibits in the museum. Today everyone has the opportunity to visit the room where 11 mummies of pharaohs are installed. In particular, the remains of such famous rulers as Ramses II and Seti I are also presented here. Next, we will head to the famous Salah al-Din Citadel. For tourists, the citadel on the mountain is open all year round, and you can get into it during daylight hours. The line of powerful fortress walls, round Byzantine towers and square Crusader fortifications have been preserved here. The main tower rises in the large courtyard, and just below it, in the second courtyard, you can see the Byzantine chapel. There is also the famous Mohammed Ali Mosque, or as it is also called the Alabaster Mosque, located at the highest point of the Cairo Citadel. Since the citadel itself is located on a hill, the minarets of the mosque can be seen from almost anywhere in the city of Cairo. This mosque is neither the largest in Cairo nor the oldest, but it has become one of the city's main attractions. The third stop will be a visit to an equally interesting place - it is the Manial Palace-Museum. The palace reflects the life of an Egyptian royal prince of the late 19th century with rococo architecture. And we will finish our tour with a visit to the oriental bazaar Khan el-Khalili, where you can buy a variety of souvenirs and not only!
