Explore the famous Islamic sites of Cairo. Learn and discover the glory of Islamic Egyptian civilization. The area has one of the largest and densest concentrations of historic architecture in the Islamic world. It is characterized by hundreds of mosques, tombs, madrasas, mansions, caravanserais and fortifications dating back to the entire Islamic era of Egypt. The famous city is known as the city of a thousand minarets.
The first stop starts with a tour of one of the oldest mosques in Cairo, the Sultan of Qalaoun Mosque - a unique building consisting of a mosque, madrasa, mausoleum, was built by Sultan of Qalaoun in 1284-1285.The mosque is located on one of the busiest tourist streets in Cairo - Al-Muiz. Next we head to the Salah al-Din Citadel, inside which is one of Cairo's most famous mosques, the Аlabaster Muhammad Ali Mosque, built between 1830 and 1848. We will also visit the recently restored Al-Sekhemi House, which is in the style of the Ottoman period of the mid-17th century. Next stop will be to see the Amr ibn al-Asa Mosque, the first mosque built in the city and the fourth largest in the world, then take a tour of the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Then enjoy an oriental style lunch at a local restaurant. And end your walk with a visit to one of Cairo's most striking landmarks, the Khan al-Khalili Bazaar.
